Message from Jim Carmichael

It has truly been an honor to serve Wayne County in the state legislature for the past seven years.  Due to term limits I will be ending my tenure as your State Representative in Columbus at the conclusion of this calendar year.  The past seven years have brought me a vast amount of knowledge and experience that will ensure continued growth and development in our County Commissioner’s Office.

My role as State Representative lead me to the following positions of leadership:  Majority Whip, Assistant Majority Floor Leader, Vice Chair Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, Public Utilities Committee Member, Criminal Justice Committee, Rules Committee, and Chair-State Government Committee.  It is the involvement in these positions that have afforded me the opportunity to make a difference in Wayne County.  I look forward to extending my service to Wayne County with even greater focus as your County Commissioner.

I am an individual who believes that all people have the right to be heard, not just the few voices of the special interest groups.  My special interest is in the families of Wayne County.  Never in my long tenure of public service have I put my own personal interests before what is best for our families, this includes being bipartisan.  This is exactly what I will do when you elect me your County Commissioner.  I am asking for your support based on my record and experience to represent all of Wayne County, not just specific groups.

Our campaign will be optimistic, positive and one that will advance families in Wayne County.
